Saburo Kitajima, a Japanese “enka” singer

He is one of the most famous Japanese ballad singer,
affectionately-called “Sabu-chan.”
He has been singing enka for 40 years,
with singleness of purpose.
There is a memorial museum in Hakodate, his hometown.

In this photo, she is wearing a kimono called “furisode”,
which is a tradittional Japanese clothing worn by women
when they become 20 years old.
Kimono is made out of silk dyed in several different
techniques. This type of kimono is called “shibori”.

I have only one photo for Photo Friday in 2003, so I choose another one for this challenge.

新年早々、野生の猿に遭遇しました。申年だし縁起がいい…のかな。
このあたりで猿を見たのは初めてです。生息していることも知りませんでした。ていうか、うちはそんなに田舎だったのかと吃驚。車で通り過ぎたので、写真は撮れませんでした。

まぁ厳密に言うと、うちのそばではありません。祖父母の家へ行く途中です。そこがどのぐらい田舎かというと...
